Francisco Sánchez, known as the Sceptic, was born in Tui, Pontevedra, in 1550 and died in Toulouse, France, in 1623. He was an anti-Aristotle figure of exceptional importance in the History of International Philosophy. He taught at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toulouse.
